The World Association for the Advancement of Traditional Chinese Medicine, abbreviated as WAATCM, is a global professional organization established in Washington, D.C. through applicable U.S. governmental registration procedures. The organization is dedicated to advancing the international communication of Traditional Chinese Medicine culture, strengthening exchange in traditional medicine, and promoting mutual understanding between Eastern health wisdom and the broader global health community.
WAATCM was jointly initiated by professionals from Traditional Chinese Medicine, traditional medicine studies, public health communication, academic research, international cultural exchange, social organization development, and cross-cultural cooperation. Its establishment responds to the growing global interest in traditional medicine and the increasing need for a professional, structured, and internationally oriented platform through which TCM culture can be clearly presented, responsibly communicated, and widely understood.
Mission
WAATCM's mission is to support the global communication of Traditional Chinese Medicine culture and to promote meaningful dialogue between traditional medical knowledge, modern health perspectives, and international cultural communities.
The organization views Traditional Chinese Medicine not only as a medical tradition, but also as a major cultural system that reflects a profound understanding of life, balance, prevention, nature, and human well-being.
Founding Vision
As Traditional Chinese Medicine gains increasing attention across countries and cultures, the need for accurate, professional, and internationally understandable communication has become more important than ever. WAATCM was established to address this need by creating a global platform that connects expertise, culture, institutions, and public dialogue.
The organization brings together individuals and partners who recognize that TCM culture must be presented to the world with clarity, dignity, responsibility, and modern international expression. WAATCM supports a broader vision in which traditional medicine becomes a meaningful part of global cultural exchange, rather than a subject confined to one region, one language, or one community.
WAATCM exists to help Traditional Chinese Medicine culture enter the global conversation with greater clarity, stronger structure, and a more international voice.
